Aroha (Love)
Aroha is a Māori word that translates to "love" in English. It encompasses a deep sense of compassion, empathy, and connection towards others, nature, and oneself. Aroha is often expressed through acts of kindness, support, and understanding, reflecting the importance of relationships in Māori culture.
In addition to romantic love, aroha includes familial love, friendship, and love for the land, known as whenua. This concept is integral to Māori identity and spirituality, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all living things and the responsibility to care for one another and the environment.
