Armstrong Whitworth
Armstrong Whitworth was a British manufacturing company founded in 1860, primarily known for producing aircraft and military vehicles. The company played a significant role in the development of aviation during the early 20th century, contributing to both World War I and World War II efforts. It was involved in the design and production of various aircraft, including the famous Whitley bomber.
In addition to aircraft, Armstrong Whitworth also manufactured locomotives, ships, and armaments. The company eventually merged with other firms and became part of the larger Hawker Siddeley Group in the 1960s, marking the end of its independent operations.
