Argus Panoptes
Argus Panoptes is a figure from Greek mythology known for his many eyes. He is often depicted as a giant with a hundred eyes, which allowed him to be an excellent watchman. His ability to see in all directions made him a formidable guardian.
In mythology, Argus was tasked with watching over Io, a mortal woman transformed into a cow by Hera. To keep Argus from interfering, Hermes, the messenger god, was sent to lull him to sleep and ultimately slay him, freeing Io from her captivity.
