Ardnamurchan Lighthouse
Ardnamurchan Lighthouse is located on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula in Scotland, marking the most westerly point of the British mainland. Built in 1849 by the engineer Robert Stevenson, the lighthouse stands 35 meters tall and features a distinctive white tower with a black band. It was designed to guide ships safely through the treacherous waters of the Hebrides.
The lighthouse is still operational and is managed by Northern Lighthouse Board. Visitors can explore the surrounding area, which offers stunning views of the coastline and nearby islands. The site is also home to a visitor center that provides information about the lighthouse's history and maritime significance.
