Archduke Leopold II
Archduke Leopold II was a member of the Habsburg dynasty, born on May 5, 1747, in Vienna, Austria. He was the second son of Emperor Francis I and Empress Maria Theresa. Leopold served as the Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1765 until his death in 1792, where he implemented various reforms to modernize the region.
In 1790, Leopold became the Holy Roman Emperor after the death of his brother, Joseph II. His reign was marked by efforts to stabilize the empire and address the challenges posed by the French Revolution. Leopold II died on March 1, 1792, leaving a legacy of enlightened governance.
