Archbishop Wilton Gregory
Archbishop Wilton Gregory is an American Roman Catholic bishop who has served as the Archbishop of Washington since 2019. He was born on December 7, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. Gregory was ordained a priest in 1973 and later became the first African American bishop in the United States when he was appointed as the Bishop of Belleville in 2004.
