Archbishop Demetrios
Archbishop Demetrios is a prominent figure in the Greek Orthodox Church, having served as the Archbishop of America from 1999 until his retirement in 2019. He is known for his efforts in promoting interfaith dialogue and fostering community relations, as well as his commitment to education and social justice.
Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1929, Demetrios was educated at the University of Athens and later at Harvard University. Throughout his ministry, he has been involved in various charitable initiatives and has worked to strengthen the Greek Orthodox community in the United States.
