Archaeological Sites in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is home to numerous archaeological sites that reflect its rich cultural heritage. Notable sites include Mahasthangarh, one of the earliest urban archaeological sites in the country, and Paharpur, which features the ruins of a large Buddhist monastery known as Somapura Mahavihara. These sites provide valuable insights into the ancient civilizations that thrived in the region.
Another significant site is Wari-Bateshwar, believed to be an ancient urban center with evidence of trade and commerce. The artifacts discovered at these locations, such as pottery and coins, help historians understand the social and economic structures of past societies in Bangladesh.
