Aquila fasciata
Aquila fasciata, commonly known as the Tawny Eagle, is a large bird of prey found in parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa. It typically inhabits open grasslands, savannas, and semi-deserts. This eagle is characterized by its broad wings, long tail, and a distinctive tawny-brown plumage, which helps it blend into its surroundings.
The Tawny Eagle primarily feeds on small mammals, birds, and carrion. It is known for its soaring flight, often seen gliding effortlessly on thermal updrafts. Breeding usually occurs in trees or cliffs, where the female lays two to three eggs, which both parents help to incubate and care for.
