Apple A8
The Apple A8 is a 64-bit system-on-a-chip (SoC) designed by Apple Inc.. It was first introduced in September 2014 and powers devices like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The A8 features a dual-core CPU that enhances performance and energy efficiency, making it suitable for mobile applications.
In addition to its CPU, the A8 includes a PowerVR GX6450 graphics processing unit (GPU), which provides improved graphics performance for gaming and multimedia. The chip is built on a 20-nanometer process, allowing for a smaller size and reduced power consumption compared to its predecessor, the A7.
