Apocryphal Texts
Apocryphal texts are writings that are not considered part of the canonical scriptures by certain religious traditions. These texts often include stories, teachings, or accounts related to religious figures, such as Jesus or Moses, but are excluded from the official Bible. The term "apocrypha" generally refers to works that are of uncertain authenticity or disputed origin.
Many apocryphal texts were written in the early centuries of Christianity and Judaism. Some examples include the Gospel of Thomas and the Book of Enoch. While they can provide insight into the beliefs and practices of early religious communities, they are not recognized as authoritative by most mainstream denominations.
