Aotus
Aotus, commonly known as the night monkey or owl monkey, is a genus of primates found in Central and South America. These small, nocturnal monkeys are characterized by their large eyes, which help them see in low light. They have a distinctive face with a flat nose and a body covered in soft fur, typically gray or brown.
Night monkeys are social animals that live in groups, often consisting of a family unit. They primarily feed on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates. Aotus is unique among primates for being the only truly nocturnal species, adapting to a lifestyle that allows them to thrive in the dark.
