Aortic Valve
The aortic valve is one of the four main valves in the heart. It is located between the left ventricle and the aorta, the largest artery in the body. The valve opens to allow blood to flow from the heart into the aorta and closes to prevent backflow into the heart.
This valve plays a crucial role in maintaining proper blood circulation. When the heart pumps, the aortic valve opens, ensuring that oxygen-rich blood is delivered to the body. If the valve does not function properly, it can lead to conditions such as aortic stenosis or aortic regurgitation.
