Aomori Nebuta
Aomori Nebuta is a traditional Japanese festival held annually in Aomori City, typically in early August. The festival features large, illuminated floats called nebuta, which are made of painted washi paper over a wooden frame. These floats often depict historical figures, mythical creatures, or scenes from Japanese folklore, and are paraded through the streets accompanied by music and dance.
During the festival, participants wear colorful haneto costumes and dance around the floats, inviting spectators to join in the celebration. The event culminates in a spectacular display of fireworks, making Aomori Nebuta a vibrant and lively cultural experience that attracts many visitors each year.
