Antonio Villaraigosa
Antonio Villaraigosa is an American politician who served as the 41st Mayor of Los Angeles from 2005 to 2013. He was the first Latino mayor of the city in over a century and focused on issues such as education, public safety, and transportation during his tenure. Villaraigosa was born on January 23, 1953, in Los Angeles and grew up in a working-class neighborhood.
Before becoming mayor, Villaraigosa served in the California State Assembly and was the Speaker of the Assembly from 1998 to 2000.
