Antlions
Antlions are the larval stage of insects belonging to the family Myrmeleontidae. They are known for their unique predatory behavior, where they create conical pits in sandy or loose soil to trap unsuspecting prey, usually small insects. Once an insect falls into the pit, the antlion quickly captures it with its powerful jaws.
As adults, antlions resemble dragonflies and are often called "doodlebugs" in their larval form. They typically have long, slender bodies and large, delicate wings. Antlions are found in various habitats around the world, often in dry, sandy areas, and play a role in controlling insect populations.
