Anti-Icing Fluids
Anti-icing fluids are specially formulated liquids used to prevent ice from forming on surfaces, particularly in aviation. These fluids are applied to aircraft before takeoff to ensure that ice does not accumulate on wings and other critical areas, which can affect flight safety. The fluids work by lowering the freezing point of water, allowing the aircraft to operate safely in cold weather conditions.
There are different types of anti-icing fluids, including Type I and Type IV, each designed for specific weather conditions. Type I fluids are heated and applied to remove existing ice, while Type IV fluids are thicker and provide longer-lasting protection against ice formation during flight.
