Antennae Galaxies
The Antennae Galaxies are a pair of interacting spiral galaxies located about 62 million light-years away in the constellation Corvus. They are named for their long, antenna-like structures created by gravitational interactions, which have triggered intense star formation.
These galaxies, designated as NGC 4038 and NGC 4039, are in the process of merging. This collision has resulted in a rich environment for star formation, leading to the creation of numerous new stars and clusters. The Antennae Galaxies provide valuable insights into the dynamics of galaxy interactions and the evolution of galaxies over time.
