Antarctic continent
The Antarctic continent is the southernmost continent on Earth, containing the South Pole. It is the fifth-largest continent, covering about 14 million square kilometers. The continent is mostly covered by ice, which holds around 60% of the world's fresh water.
Antarctica is known for its extreme climate, with temperatures often dropping below -60 degrees Celsius. Despite its harsh conditions, it is home to unique wildlife, including penguins, seals, and various seabirds. The continent is also a significant area for scientific research, with many countries operating research stations to study its environment and climate.
