Ann Hasseltine Judson
Ann Hasseltine Judson (1789-1826) was an American missionary known for her work in Burma, now Myanmar. She was one of the first female missionaries sent by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. Ann married Adoniram Judson, a prominent missionary, and together they dedicated their lives to spreading Christianity in a foreign land.
In Burma, Ann faced numerous challenges, including cultural barriers and health issues. Despite these difficulties, she contributed significantly to the missionary efforts by learning the local language and translating religious texts. Her legacy continues to inspire many in the field of missionary work and women's roles in religious outreach.
