Anita Sarkeesian
Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and the founder of the nonprofit organization Feminist Frequency. She is best known for her web series, which analyzes the portrayal of women in video games and popular culture. Through her work, Sarkeesian aims to highlight issues of gender representation and promote more inclusive narratives in media.
Sarkeesian gained significant attention in 2012 when she launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund her video series, which quickly became controversial. She has faced both support and backlash, particularly from online communities, but continues to advocate for gender equality in the gaming industry and beyond.
