Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH) occurs when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, leading to bleeding in the space surrounding the brain, known as the subarachnoid space. This condition is often caused by the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm, which is a weakened area in the wall of a blood vessel. Symptoms may include a sudden, severe headache, neck stiffness, and loss of consciousness.
Diagnosis typically involves imaging tests such as a CT scan or MRI to identify bleeding and assess the condition of the blood vessels. Treatment may include surgical interventions to repair the aneurysm and prevent further bleeding, along with supportive care to manage symptoms and complications.
