Anegada rock iguana
The Anegada rock iguana is a large lizard native to Anegada, one of the British Virgin Islands. It is known for its distinctive grayish-brown color and robust body, which can grow up to 5 feet long. This species primarily inhabits dry, rocky areas and is often found basking in the sun.
These iguanas are herbivorous, feeding on a variety of plants, including leaves, flowers, and fruits. They play a crucial role in their ecosystem by helping to disperse seeds. Unfortunately, the Anegada rock iguana is considered endangered due to habitat loss and predation by invasive species.
