Andrea Gail
The Andrea Gail was a commercial fishing vessel that became famous after its tragic sinking in 1991. It was a 72-foot long boat based in Gloucester, Massachusetts, primarily used for fishing in the North Atlantic. The ship was captained by Billy Tyne and had a crew of six men.
In October 1991, the Andrea Gail set out for a fishing trip but encountered a powerful storm known as the Perfect Storm. The vessel was lost at sea, and despite extensive search efforts, the crew was never found. The story of the Andrea Gail was later popularized in the book and film titled The Perfect Storm.
