Andean Fox
The Andean Fox, also known as the Patagonian Fox or Culpeo, is a medium-sized canid native to the Andean regions of South America. It has a long, bushy tail and a thick coat that varies in color from gray to reddish-brown. This fox primarily inhabits grasslands, forests, and mountainous areas, where it hunts small mammals, birds, and insects.
Andean Foxes are known for their adaptability and can thrive in diverse environments, from arid deserts to high-altitude regions. They are solitary animals, often marking their territory with scent. Their population is currently stable, but habitat loss poses a potential threat.
