Ancient Phrygia
Ancient Phrygia was a kingdom located in central Anatolia, in what is now modern-day Turkey. It flourished from around the 8th century BCE to the 7th century BCE and was known for its rich culture and contributions to art and architecture. The Phrygians spoke an Indo-European language and were famous for their intricate textiles and pottery.
The capital of Phrygia was Gordium, which is notable for its impressive burial mounds and the legendary Gordian Knot. The kingdom eventually fell under the influence of larger empires, such as the Lydians and Persians, but its legacy continued to influence the region's history and culture.
