Ancient Korea
Ancient Korea refers to the early history of the Korean Peninsula, which includes the formation of the first kingdoms around 2333 BCE. The three main kingdoms were Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla, which emerged during the Three Kingdoms period (57 BCE - 668 CE). These kingdoms developed their own cultures, languages, and political systems, influencing the region's history.
The Unified Silla period followed the unification of the three kingdoms in 668 CE, leading to advancements in art, science, and trade. Buddhism became a significant influence during this time, shaping Korean culture and society. The legacy of ancient Korea continues to impact modern Korean identity.
