Anathoth
Anathoth is an ancient town located in the territory of Benjamin, near Jerusalem. It is mentioned in the Bible, particularly in the books of Jeremiah and Joshua. Anathoth was known as a Levitical city, meaning it was designated for the priests and Levites.
The town is significant in biblical history as the birthplace of the prophet Jeremiah. It served as a place of refuge and a center for religious activities. Today, the site of Anathoth is believed to be near the modern village of Anata in the West Bank.
