Ananda Thera
Ananda Thera was a prominent disciple of Gautama Buddha and is often regarded as one of the most important figures in early Buddhism. He was known for his exceptional memory and played a crucial role in the preservation of the Buddha's teachings. Ananda was also a close companion of the Buddha, accompanying him during many of his travels and sermons.
After the Buddha's passing, Ananda was instrumental in the First Buddhist Council, where he recited many of the teachings and discourses. His contributions helped to establish the Pali Canon, the sacred scriptures of Theravada Buddhism, ensuring that the Buddha's teachings would be preserved for future generations.
