Amoebae
Amoebae are single-celled organisms that belong to the group of protists. They are known for their unique shape, which can change as they move. Amoebae use extensions called pseudopodia to crawl and capture food, primarily bacteria and other small particles. They thrive in various environments, including freshwater, saltwater, and soil.
These organisms reproduce asexually through a process called binary fission, where one cell divides into two. Amoebae play an essential role in the ecosystem by helping to decompose organic material and serving as a food source for larger organisms, such as protozoa and small fish.
