American Toads
The American Toad is a common amphibian found across much of North America. They typically have a warty, brownish skin that helps them blend into their surroundings. Adult toads can grow to about 2 to 4 inches in length and are known for their distinctive, loud calls during the breeding season.
These toads prefer habitats like forests, gardens, and wetlands. They are primarily nocturnal and feed on insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates. American Toads play an important role in controlling pest populations and are also a food source for various predators, including birds and snakes.
