The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) are a series of mathematics contests designed for middle and high school students in the United States. Organized by the Mathematical Association of America, these competitions aim to foster interest in mathematics and develop problem-solving skills. The AMC includes several levels, such as the AMC 8 for grades 8 and below, and the AMC 10 and AMC 12 for grades 10 and 12, respectively.
Participants in the AMC solve a variety of challenging math problems within a set time limit. High scorers may qualify for further competitions, including the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) and the USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO). These contests provide students with opportunities to showcase their mathematical abilities and gain recognition.
