American Indian Film Institute
The American Indian Film Institute (AIFI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of Native American communities through film. Founded in 1975, AIFI supports Indigenous filmmakers and provides a platform for their stories, showcasing the diverse experiences and perspectives of American Indians.
AIFI hosts the annual American Indian Film Festival, which is one of the oldest and most respected festivals of its kind. The festival features a variety of films, including documentaries, shorts, and feature-length works, all created by or about Native Americans, fostering greater understanding and appreciation of their cultures.
