American Football Conference
The American Football Conference (AFC) is one of the two conferences in the National Football League (NFL), the other being the National Football Conference (NFC). Established in 1970, the AFC consists of 16 teams that compete for the conference championship and a chance to play in the Super Bowl. The teams are divided into four divisions: East, North, South, and West.
Each season, the AFC teams play a mix of divisional, conference, and inter-conference games. The top teams qualify for the AFC playoffs, culminating in the AFC Championship Game, where the winner advances to the Super Bowl, facing the champion of the NFC.
