American Battle Monuments Commission
The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) is an independent agency of the United States government responsible for commemorating the service of American military personnel. Established in 1923, it oversees the maintenance and operation of 26 cemeteries and memorials located in 16 countries, primarily in Europe and the Pacific, honoring those who died in World War I, World War II, and other conflicts.
The ABMC's mission includes preserving the memory of fallen soldiers and providing a place for reflection and remembrance. It also educates the public about the sacrifices made by the U.S. Armed Forces, ensuring that the legacy of these individuals is never forgotten.
