Amber Alert
An Amber Alert is a public notification system used to quickly disseminate information about a child who has been abducted. The alert aims to enlist the help of the community in locating the child and apprehending the suspect. It typically includes details such as the child's description, the suspected abductor, and any vehicle information.
Amber Alerts are broadcast through various channels, including television, radio, and mobile devices. They are activated when law enforcement believes that a child is in imminent danger and that there is enough information to assist in the search. The system is named after Amber Hagerman, a young girl who was abducted and murdered in Texas in 1996.
