Ambalika Devi
Ambalika Devi is a character from the ancient Indian epic, the Mahabharata. She is the daughter of the king of Kashi and is known for her beauty and grace. Ambalika was married to Vichitravirya, the king of Hastinapura, as part of a royal arrangement.
After Vichitravirya's untimely death, Ambalika became the mother of Dhritarashtra through the practice of Niyoga, a custom allowing a widow to bear children through a designated man. Her story highlights themes of duty, family, and the complexities of royal lineage in ancient India.
