Alternate Realities
Alternate realities, also known as parallel universes or multiverses, refer to hypothetical versions of reality that exist alongside our own. These realities may have different outcomes, events, or laws of physics, creating unique worlds that diverge from the one we experience. The concept is often explored in science fiction, where characters might travel between these alternate realities.
The idea of alternate realities is supported by some interpretations of quantum mechanics, particularly the Many-Worlds Interpretation. This theory suggests that every decision or event creates branching paths, leading to multiple, coexisting realities. While still theoretical, the notion of alternate realities captivates the imagination and raises questions about existence and choice.
