Alpine ibex
The Alpine ibex is a species of wild goat that inhabits the mountainous regions of the European Alps. Known for its impressive curved horns, which can grow up to 1 meter long, the Alpine ibex is well adapted to steep, rocky terrains. These animals are excellent climbers, using their specialized hooves to navigate challenging landscapes in search of food, primarily grasses and herbs.
Alpine ibexes are social animals, often found in herds that can vary in size. They typically live at high altitudes during the summer months and migrate to lower elevations in winter. Conservation efforts have helped their populations recover after being threatened by hunting and habitat loss in the past.
