Alligator Behavior
Alligators are primarily solitary creatures, often found basking in the sun or resting in the water. They are most active during dawn and dusk, known as crepuscular behavior. Alligators communicate through a variety of vocalizations, including growls and hisses, especially during mating season.
These reptiles are opportunistic feeders, preying on fish, birds, and small mammals. They use a technique called "death roll" to subdue larger prey, spinning in the water to tear apart their catch. Alligators are also territorial, especially males, and will defend their space from intruders.
