Allen Collins
Allen Collins was an American musician and songwriter, best known as a founding member and guitarist of the rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Born on July 19, 1952, in Jacksonville, Florida, he played a significant role in shaping the band's sound during the 1970s. Collins contributed to many of their classic songs, showcasing his talent for blending Southern rock with blues influences.
After the tragic plane crash in 1977 that claimed the lives of several band members, including Ronnie Van Zant, Collins continued to pursue music.
