Alfred Uhry
Alfred Uhry is an American playwright and screenwriter, best known for his work in theater. He was born on February 3, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia. Uhry gained widespread recognition for his play Driving Miss Daisy, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1988. His writing often explores themes of Jewish identity and Southern culture.
In addition to his success in theater, Uhry has also written for film and television. He adapted Driving Miss Daisy into an Academy Award-winning film in 1989. Throughout his career, Uhry has received numerous accolades, including a Tony Award for his work on the Broadway musical Parade.
