Alfred Gilbert
Alfred Gilbert was an English sculptor and artist, born in 1854 and known for his innovative work in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is best recognized for his sculptures, which often combined elements of classical and modern styles. One of his most famous works is the Alfred Gilbert's statue of Eros located in Piccadilly Circus, London.
In addition to sculpture, Gilbert was also a skilled medalist and designed numerous medals, including the Royal Society of Arts medal. His contributions to the art world were significant, and he played a key role in the development of British sculpture during his time.
