Alexios I Comnenus
Alexios I Comnenus was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 1081 to 1118. He was the founder of the Comnenian dynasty and is known for his efforts to stabilize the Byzantine Empire during a time of crisis. His reign was marked by military campaigns against the Seljuk Turks and the Normans, as well as significant administrative reforms.
Alexios I is also notable for his role in the First Crusade. He sought assistance from Western Europe to combat the threats facing his empire, which led to the arrival of Crusaders in the region. His diplomatic skills helped to strengthen Byzantine power and influence during his reign.
