Alexander Karelin
Alexander Karelin is a retired Russian wrestler, widely regarded as one of the greatest Greco-Roman wrestlers in history. Born on September 19, 1967, in Novosibirsk, Russia, he dominated the sport during the 1980s and 1990s, winning three Olympic gold medals in 1988, 1992, and 1996. Karelin was known for his incredible strength and technical skills, earning the nickname "The Russian Bear."
In addition to his Olympic success, Karelin secured nine World Championship titles and was undefeated for 13 years in international competition. After retiring from wrestling, he pursued a career in politics and became a member of the State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia.
