Alberto Gonzales
Alberto Gonzales is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 80th Attorney General of the United States from 2005 to 2007. He was the first Hispanic person to hold this position. Before becoming Attorney General, Gonzales was the White House Counsel under President George W. Bush and played a significant role in legal matters during the administration.
Born on August 4, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas, Gonzales grew up in a working-class family. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School and later served as a judge on the Texas Supreme Court. His tenure as Attorney General was marked by controversies, particularly regarding issues of civil liberties and the use of torture.
