Alaska Native Language Center
The Alaska Native Language Center (ANLC) is located at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. It focuses on the preservation and revitalization of Alaska Native languages, which include languages such as Inupiaq, Yup'ik, and Tlingit. The center conducts research, provides resources, and offers educational programs to support language learning and documentation.
In addition to language preservation, the ANLC collaborates with Alaska Native communities to promote cultural heritage. It also produces teaching materials and conducts workshops to help both Native and non-Native speakers engage with these languages. The center plays a vital role in maintaining the linguistic diversity of Alaska.
