Al-Maari
Al-Maari was a prominent Arab philosopher, poet, and writer born in 973 CE in Ma'arrat al-Numan, Syria. He is best known for his unique perspective on life, which often reflected skepticism and a deep questioning of societal norms. His works, written in Arabic, include poetry and prose that explore themes of morality, existence, and the human condition.
Despite being blind for much of his life, Al-Maari produced a significant body of work, including his famous poem, Luzumiyyat, which showcases his mastery of language and thought. He is often regarded as a precursor to modern existentialism, influencing later thinkers and writers in the Arab world and beyond.
