Akan community
The Akan community is a group of ethnic groups primarily found in Ghana and Ivory Coast. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional music, dance, and art. The Akan people speak various dialects of the Akan language, with Twi and Fante being the most widely spoken.
Akan society is organized around matrilineal lineage, meaning inheritance and family ties are traced through the mother. The community places a strong emphasis on family and social cohesion, often gathering for festivals and ceremonies that celebrate their history and traditions, such as the Akwasidae festival.
