Akal Takht
Akal Takht is one of the five Takhts, or seats of authority, in Sikhism. Located in Amritsar, Punjab, it was established in 1606 by Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru. The Akal Takht serves as a central place for Sikh governance and decision-making, emphasizing justice and equality.
The structure is an important spiritual and political symbol for Sikhs, representing the unity of the community. It is also a site for significant events and gatherings, where important announcements and edicts are made. The Akal Takht stands adjacent to the Golden Temple, reinforcing its importance in Sikh religious life.
